A second chance at PBS’ “David Thompson” show

Posted By on November 10, 2009

Thanks to Carl Haywood for tracking this down. If you missed the initial showing of the PBS documentary on David Thompson last week, here’s the info for the next one. If anybody knows when else and where else it’s showing, let me know.

WHAT: Uncharted Territory: “David Thompson on the Columbia Plateau”
WHEN: Wed, Nov 18 @ 8:00 p.m. MST
WHERE: KSPS-TV, Spokane (check you local listing for the channel)

“David Thompson is considered by many as “the greatest North American land geographer of his time.” During his sojourns in the Canadian Rockies and Northwestern United States, Thompson established trade relationships with native tribes, set up fur trade stations and mapped over 3.9 million square kilometers (1.5 million sq. mi.) of the North American continent. This documentary focuses on the years 1800-1812 and details the significant contributions he made to the history of both Canada and the United States.”
